"I was instantly drawn into this painting by the energy created by the compositional angles , the lead in of the fence, and the hot mess of impressionist trees in the middle. I say hot mess because the temptation by most of to make trees too perfect, but this reflects reality with lots of crazy sticks and branches heading in every direction. It makes me want to walkup the hill through the crunching snowman head to the warm house. This has the feel of a painting done by a Russian master."
